Marquee Foreman

We are looking for a Foreman with experience in the marquee industry who wants to progress further. Following and implementing health and safety procedures you will manage a crew of 8 – 10 workers and lead the team with site inductions, toolbox talks and the erection of the structures.

We are a Bristol and South West Company with over 40 years’ experience in erecting Aluminium Structures and Marquees.  We are proud to have a steady and stable workforce and continue to invest in the ongoing training of all core staff.  As a company we are seeking the right personnel who have leadership and supervisory qualities, not only in the marquee industry but from outdoor events industries used to working in an outdoor environment.

Candidates require strong leadership and organisational skills. 3 years of proven experience as a foreman is essential.

Responsibilities

– Managing a crew of 8 – 10

– Liaising with clients

– Erection and dismantle of structures

– Ensuring all jobs are finished to the highest quality

– Keeping to tight time deadlines

– Health and safety of staff on sites

– Site visits and client meetings with the sales team

Essential Qualities

– 3 years proven experience

– Strong leadership skills

– Good organisational skills

– Self-motivated and proactive

– Able to problem solve and multi-task

– Hard working with a can-do attitude

– Well presented

– MUTA structure safe trained

– Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualities

– Tele handler fork lift trained

– First Aid trained

For a candidate with the right can-do attitude we will be willing to arrange training in the above.

Hours of work

An average of 45 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays when required.  You will be required to work away from home and accommodation will be provided. Our normal working hours are 7am till 5pm with breaks totalling 1 hour.  During our busy periods these hours will be extended as required to accommodate the business.  Within the marquee and events industry flexibility is essential.   

Progression within the company is encouraged.

Competitive rates of pay circa £26 – £35K including company vehicle and bonus.

Our normal working hours are 7am till 5pm with breaks totalling 1 hour.  During our busy periods these hours will be extended as required to accommodate the business.  Within the marquee and events industry flexibility is essential.   

Pay depending on experience above the living wage, including bonus.

Events Executive

We’re looking for an energetic, motivated and hard-working individual to join our sales team. As Events Executive you will be responsible for ensuring a steady stream of growth in the company’s sales, through relationships with current clients and forming relationships with prospective clients; providing quotations and managing bookings through to completion.

Responsibilities

– Answering inbound calls for the New Sales department, handling and directing calls as necessary.

– Producing quotations for clients working closely with other departments and external suppliers to provide seamless event management of bookings. All quotations must be complete with relevant paperwork including risk assessments and accurately recorded in All Hire.

– Ensuring sales data is captured correctly, following set tracking processes and recording enquiries including the turning down of business and reasons for this.

– Discussion of live quotes at sales meetings, updating the team on booking details and its progress.

– Proactively identifying and following up new business opportunities and potential leads to meet and exceed annual team targets.

– Attending and undertaking site visits to provide quotations when required and for all confirmed business. Completing risk assessments and confirming suitability of equipment with clients.

– Obtaining post event feedback from the client and operational team for future business opportunities.

– Collating information to produce a post job costing for analysis and sign off.

– Managing assigned Dog Shows across the year.

– Assisting the Sales Manager with mobile catering bookings for large events, preparing paperwork and liaising with suppliers.

Essential Qualities

– Excellent customer service & communication skills

– Strong organisational skills

– Self-motivated with a positive attitude

– Well presented

– UK driving licence

– Team player

Desirable Qualities

– Sales or events experience

– Confident and competent with computers to include software such as Microsoft Office, Sage, Sketch Up

Hours of work

Normal working hours are 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 – 5pm on Fridays however you may occasionally be required to work outside these hours.
