The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a typically British event offering a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment, over 5 days, in early September. There is no other event like it anywhere in the world which is why it attracts over 200,000 visitors each year and even holds a Guinness World Record for the largest parade of steam rollers!

How could Danco not get involved with the home of 103 steam rollers and 3000 exhibitors, the traders need somewhere to house their crafts, local ales and animals for a start. Now in its 47^th year, the event continues to move from strength to strength and we have been proud to be a supplier for in excess of 40 years.

As we reach the halfway point for the steam fair and visitors continue to flood through the gates in search of the WW1 Centenary Commemoration Display and the heavy shire horse parade, the Danco team reflect on another successful installation. Watched closely by Martin and his team, we had an easier ride with regards to the mud this year and built over 15,000 sqm of marquee on the 600 acre site.

Safe to say we set up camp at Blandford Forum and are on-site for well over a week! It can be a difficult site to work on as the weather often plays havoc with the track conditions, but we have a patient and flexible on-site team who have plenty of experience to keep the build running smoothly.
