Yesterday was the last day of the build for the IRONMAN 70.3 at Shugborough Estate in Staffordshire and we popped up to sign off the event installation. Over 4 days the Danco on-site crew, under the leadership of Foreman Wayne Collins, have built a variety of temporary structures to house everything from the competitors safety briefing and medical & massage tents to registration marquees and shopping expo pavilions.
The event will see thousands of endurance athletes from all over the world take part in a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and 13.1-mile half marathon challenge! Last year even the likes of Gordon Ramsay and his wife Tana participated as part of the Gordon Ramsay Foundation, which raises money for charitable causes close to their heart such as the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Danco provide the hospitality pavilion for the foundation who entertain the friends and family of their competitors on race day, in the gallery below are some images of our semi-clear 15m roofs that add something a little different to the structure.
This is our third year working with the IRONMAN triathlons and having now signed a contract with the prestigious endurance event, we will also be providing marquee hire for their Wimbleball, Tenby and Dublin sites later in the year. As an international company, we are often travelling to the furthest reaches of the UK & Ireland and are pleased to continue our work across the water, following another successful Balmoral Show in Northern Ireland earlier this year.
So good luck to all of the competitors this weekend, not forgetting the brave IRONMAN Kids as well!
