Pictured above with Laura and Rebecca from The Royal County of Berskhire Show and Pensitone Show respectively, two of the Danco sales team (Anna and Laura) had a lovely evening at the gala dinner on Saturday at the annual ASAO conference. This year the conference and evening celebrations were held at Dunston Hall in Norfolk, by the very organised team at The Royal Norfolk Show.
The Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations hold an annual conference each year and Danco were eager to attend the weekend in Norfolk, a great opportunity to get together with existing showground clients and forge relationships with potential new customers. The knowledge exchanged during the panels was invaluable; a variety of topics were covered such as accomplishing a show’s charitable objectives and achieving effective PR to sell your show.
One panel that really resonated with us was ‘keeping your show safe’ as this year’s change in CDM regulations have been at the forefront of every industry event that we have attended. Cathy Ricketts, Natwest Mentor, presented some great tips to the room and was kind enough to use Danco’s on-site crews as an example of how to do it right when looking after H&S regulations.
Danco had a trade stand across the weekend and the highlight of many people’s visit was the opportunity to win ‘Flock & Roll’, our gorgeous Shaun the Sheep figurine in the Danco colours and designed by a local Bristol artist. Congratulations to David Wallace of Rosettes Direct who was the lucky winner!
Following a delicious gala dinner and some enthusiastic entertainment on the Saturday evening, Danco were proud to sponsor the Sunday activities, including the panel, tea & coffee and light lunch. Delegates braved the weather for a tour of the Norfolk showground and enjoyed some local produce before heading home after a fantastic celebration of contemporary country life (to quote the ASAO Chariman, Sir Nicholas Bacon Bt., OBE DL).
