RUGBY WORLD CUP 2015 – CARDIFF FAN ZONE

Patryk - FanZone2

Here at Danco HQ our office team talk about all sorts of things, what we did at the weekend, our favourite cake (it’s carrot, by the way) and of course most recently, the Rugby World Cup 2015. I’m sure this is true for many offices across the world, we need not go in to detail about Japan’s unexpected win or whether Australia have it in them to beat New Zealand this weekend … to be continued!

At the forefront of our minds over the past month or so on the rugby front, has been the number and quality of the fan zones across the country. Specifically, the largest fan zone in the city of Cardiff, at the historic Cardiff Arms Park. Danco provided the temporary structure for the merchandise tent on this site, which had a capacity of 10,000 fans per game! The marquee itself was in excess of 650 sq ft in size, that’s a lot of Rugby shirts for a lot of dedicated fans.

The rugby fan zone at Cardiff Arms Park was ideally located right in the middle of the atmosphere, adjacent to the Millennium Stadium and visitors enjoyed fantastic experiences that included speed training tests, scrum down challenges and even anthem sing-alongs!

Because of the public area and nature of the venue, we worked within strict timescales and ensured that our build was not disruptive to the local residents. Our structure was up for over two weeks and no matter how big or small our part, Danco were proud to be involved with such an incredibly well organised sporting event in the UK.
