WE ROUND UP THE ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKSHIRE SHOW

Newbury 1

An annual agricultural show in Berkshire, England that started in 1909 as a horse show, is nowover 100 years old and has now grown to be one of the biggest such events in England. The Newbury and District Agricultural Society was formed in the year of conception to run the show and continues to do so to this day.

Danco were very proud to provide some of the larger temporary structures for the show this year, which ran across the weekend of 19th-20th September 2015 on Newbury Showground. The Show Manager, Laura-Priestly Cooper, engaged the team at Danco to look after a variety of their large scale marquees such as the 40m clearspan cattle tent, the 2325 sqm craft marquee and the main shopping pavilion.

Working closely with our Sales Executive, Cheryl Willcox, the showground team were provided with a detailed build schedule and after nearly three weeks on-site built up a great rapport with the assigned Foreman, Sam Lambert and his crew. With care and attention being paid to every part of the installation, whether it be a 4x4m chinese hat or over 150m long pavilions, both sides were pleased with the completed job and everything ran to schedule.

As Danco sponsored the show, our Sales & Marketing Executive, Laura East, was privy to a VIP day out and access to the member’s enclosure. The weather gods were out in force and the attractions in the main arena were very entertaining. Ranging from The Kangaroo Kid to a heavy horse parade and a llama egg and spoon race, there was something for everyone and it was a very enjoyable experience.

Hi Cheryl and the team,

Thank you for all of your hard work on putting together this year’s Royal County of Berkshire Show! The sun shone down on us this year, and with that the people came in their thousands, so much so, that we hit an attendance of 62,000 over the two days.

I am absolutely delighted with how smoothly the Show build went, and everyone’s hard work certainly paid off as we had a very enjoyable, smooth couple of days.

I have had some great feedback from colleagues and volunteers on how friendly and accommodating all of the team at Danco are, and how much they enjoyed working with you all.

Please can you pass on my thanks to Sam Lambert and his team, they were an absolute pleasure to work with and we were very impressed with the level of service we received.

Thanks again, Laura
