Balmoral Show, Balmoral Park, Halftown Rd, Sprucefield, BT27 5RF
After 145 years at King’s Hall in Belfast, the Balmoral Show hosted the 2013 event at their newly constructed showground – Balmoral Park.
The new showground is situated at the old RAF Long Kesh base on the outskirts of Lisburn, approximately 9 miles west of Belfast. More recently the site was home to the infamous Maze prison from the mid 70’s until 2000 when it was closed and partly demolished.
The stunning new showground stands in the shadow of the former prison but demonstrates clearly how times have changed and with progress what can be achieved.
The three day Balmoral Show in partnership with Ulster Bank is Ireland’s largest Agricultural and Food Show with something to entertain the whole family offering an extravaganza of colour, competitions and showmanship along with daily displays of pedigree horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, poultry, pigs and goats.
Also on offer during the event were a myriad of shops & stalls selling a wide range of goods and produce from food to clothing, a large funfair and Helicopter rides for the particularly adventurous.
The show organisers contacted Danco to provide the necessary marquee and temporary structures at their new show and following a consultation period & subsequent contract we were able to construct the vast majority of them as principal contractor.
