PROJECT BRIEF:
We were contacted by Bristol City Football Club at the end of July 2018 to see whether we could supply a suitable temporary structure to house a small covered training area at their training ground in Failand. Over the winter months it provided an additional training space away from the elements to keep dry, shelter from the wind and enjoy their all-important ‘activation’ sessions prior to training.
SOLUTION:
We installed a small yet effective pvc clearspan marquee, adjacent to the existing indoor gym. Due to the site consisting of two different surfaces – grass and a 4G surface, we had to consider the method used for securing the structure, which resulted in a mixture of both water weights and stakes.
It was essential that the club had access through the structure at all times; allowing a small vehicle to pass from one end to the other, as and when required. The placement of these weights therefore had to be specifically placed to avoid any obstruction.
Our site teams had to be accommodating with the marquee installation as the site was in use most hours of the day. We took an adaptable approach to this, liaising with the client to determine the best time to build, to ensure we caused minimum disruption to training happening that day.
