SAINSBURY’S REDEVELOPMENT

PROJECT BRIEF:

When Kier undertook redevelopment of Sainsbury’s in Taunton, they needed to close the in-store Cafe to allow the redevelopment work to take place. Sainsbury’s see the cafe as a great draw and essential in allowing their customers to enjoy the full shopping experience.  Kier turned to Danco to provide a marquee that could be used as a Cafe which would be located on a section of the existing car park.  The structure needed to be erected without causing any down time for the store’s cafe or disruption to any customers using the store as it remained operational throughout the build.

When redeveloping a supermarket you need to do the job quickly, efficiently and it needs to work. That’s why Kier used Danco.

SOLUTION:

Danco provided a solid sided marquee, with full suspended floor and partially glazed walls providing maximum security and allowing customers to still feel as though they were still part of the store environment.  The marquee was 10m x 15m and included a fully integrated kitchen and high grade floor covering.

Danco marquee hire also erected a 25m x 15m marquee during the re-stocking of the redeveloped store, this structure provided staff with the essential extra space needed to allow them to take delivery of stock during the change-over period, while their usual delivery bays were restricted and under redevelopment.
