PROJECT BRIEF:

Danco provide spectacular marquee structures on the pitch of Southampton Football Club to celebrate their promotion in to the Premier League.

Southampton Football Club contacted Danco to discuss the options for a celebratory marquee during the final throws of the season, with a promotion to the premiership a distinct possibility.

In a thrilling fixture, the Saints beat rivals Coventry City 4 – 0 to guarantee promotion to the Premiership. With the promotion confirmed, Southampton FC contacted us to go ahead with the installation of lavish and spectacular party structures on the hallowed turf at St Mary’s stadium.

SOLUTION:

With only days to arrange the event, the crews involved worked incredibly hard to provide the client with such an amazing venue for the occasion installing carpets, flooring, furniture, toilets, lighting, heating, bars, staging and a dance floor.

Construction work was carried out with the greatest care as the club had several other fixtures planned in the stadium. To protect the pitch we installed a lightweight, breathable and sturdy flooring system and trackway for vehicular access.

The finished product provided a breathtaking backdrop to the party with many seperate areas for the guests to enjoy.

Once through the entrance via the players tunnel and through two chinese hats, the players, staff and celebrities were greeted with a beautiful lounge area complete with bars, LED furniture, soft seating, bespoke interior linings and gigantic ice sculpture of the club’s crest.

Leading from the lounge using two seperate entrances, the guests were welcomed with the awesome sight of a giant LED dance floor, fully seated dining area for 600 people, 1200 sqm of black starcloth roof linings and a 100 sqm stage for the band.

Each individual dining table glowed from coloured lighting fitted internally and coupled with hundreds of spot lamps and the huge LED dance floor the lighting technicians provided stunning effects throughout the evening.

The event was a great success and we very much look forward to working with the Saints again and wish them the very best for their future matches!
